The Lubalin-esque Lettering of Rob Alba

Rob Alba is a criminally underrated letterer from Argentina inspired by Herb Lubalin!

Herb Lubalin’s lettering often emphasized a merging of serif/sans-serif typography and calligraphic lettering. Similarly, Rob Alba’s works involve a new and exciting serif/sans-serif every lettering project. Alba has said to me in a reply to one of their posts that they consider Lubalin a “hero,” and it’s not hard to see why.

What’s even more impressive is that they do it all while having dyslexia. We all have something to learn in both craftsmanship and work ethic from Alba!
